Publication type: Report, 42pp.
This M&E guidance document was prepared during October – December 2017. During the preparation of this M&E guidance document, the staff at the Ray Marshall Center worked closely with Nuru project staff to reach a number of critical decisions and to identify M&E essential strategies. Staff at the Ray Marshall Center conducted a literature review, conducted a document review, and coordinated with Nuru International staff.
The purpose of this document is to report on the RMC’s literature review, as well as to review Nuru’s past approaches to evaluation in order to gauge whether those methods are appropriate for Nuru’s emerging Nigeria work. These methods include poverty measures as well as Nuru’s Leadership Sustainability Index (LSI), which evaluates the readiness of the local organization’s leaders to autonomously implement and improve programs to meet the needs of the communities. The purpose of this document is not to include evaluation methods specific to any particular program (e.g. agriculture, healthcare) since Nuru designs the logic model and M&E plan for these elements during the program planning process.
