Summary
As Nuru Nigeria expands into new geographies, including communities residing in the buffer zone of protected areas such as Gashaka-Gumti (IUCN Category II protected area), its evaluation approach is expanding to establish early learning points in scaling contexts. This Toungo assessment represents the first formal evaluative timepoint for Nuru Nigeria’s work in the area and provides a baseline of participant livelihoods, production systems, and adaptive strategies after one agricultural season of support.
